Blessing ceremonies.

Italyweddings is happy to assist you with a number of different types of symbolic and religious blessing. Here is an outline of the types of ceremony that we can arrange:

A Religious blessing
This type of ceremony may be held in a Church, in a chapel at a villa, or in the grounds or halls of a private villa. Typically we arrange a Protestant blessing, but Catholic and Jewish blessings are also possible. The content and religious implications are the same as any Church ceremony you may have attended, and the ceremony is held in English. Prayers, readings and music may be part of the ceremony, the bride may be given away if you prefer, there may be vows and an exchange of rings. The only difference between a blessing a a full ceremony is the legal aspect. A blessing ceremony alone does not make you legally married: you will arrange a separate civil wedding either prior to coming to Italy, or in a town hall in Italy prior to the blessing. For a Roman Catholic wedding, it is possible to arrange a legally binding wedding mass, but not generally in a villa setting.
For examples:

Protestant Church wedding: Joanne and Justin
Protestant Chapel wedding: Maria and Bruce
Protestant villa blessing: Erin and Josh
Roman Catholic Church wedding: Adriana and Sean
Roman Catholic Chapel blessing: Michelle and Anthony
Jewish villa wedding: Sara and Ben

A symbolic blessing
The symbolic blessing is a non religious ceremony. As above, the symbolic blessing aloe is not legally binding. The ceremony is typically held in the grounds or halls of villas and castellos. The format and text of the ceremony is highly flexible, and the couple have full choice over the wording, the vows, the readings and so on. Reading, music are part of the ceremony, the bride may be given away, there may be vows and exchange of rings. For examples:

Symbolic chapel blessing: Nicola and Christopher
Symbolic villa blessing: Michelle and David
Double villa blessing: Lindsay and Nicholas, Sarah and Jon

Renewal of vows.
Both Protestant and symbolic ceremonies can be arranged for couples wishing to renew their vows, and re-state their pledges. For a Protestant ceremony, the setting may be a church or villa, while the symbolic ceremony will most often be in a villa setting. There is a great flexibility for the content and format of the ceremony, and once again, readings, music and re-exchange of rings can be included.

Same sex ceremonies.
Italy is a culturally advanced, open minded and tolerant country. While Religious blessings for gay couples are not possible, or legally binding civil weddings (at this time) we are more than happy to assist with a symbolic blessing ceremony.

About vows
For all types of blessing, the couple are able to say vows and exchange rings. In particular, for a symbolic blessing, the couple will have complete flexibility to exchange exactly the pledes and promises they wish to make. These can be prompted, momorized, or improptu, as you prefer. The typical church vows are often used.
