Pistoia remains off the beaten tourist route, even though the town center is one of the best preserved in Tuscany. The town is also just a few miles out of Florence, easy to reach, and a great base for visiting Lucca, Pisa, Montecatini, and all of Northern Tuscany.
The town hall is perfect for a larger wedding party for the civil wedding. While many towns in the area, such as Florence, with the Sala rossa, are limited in terms of space, the town hall here is great for a party of 70 or more.
The thriving younger culture of the town has recently given move to a number of great restaurants, while the hills outside of the town - mixed woodland, olive groves and fertile plains - are home to a number of spectacular villas.
Vinci is a beautiful, quiet, and unspoilt village in Northern Tuscany, just a few miles from Florence - it is, of course, the birthplace of Renaissance genius Leonardo da Vinci.
The town is surrounded by the romantic and visually pleasing rolling Tuscan hills a landscape consisting of vineyards and olive groves, that are much the same as in Leonardo's time.
We suggest Vinci as a base for a wedding for those couples who are returning to Tuscany for a second or third time, and want to be away from the busier locations such as Florence and Siena for their accommodation, while being near enought to these towns for daily visits. If your idea of a Tuscan vacation is undiscovered Tuscany, good wine and genuine cuisine, Vinci is a location to consider.
