There are a handful of venues across Tuscany that have a special relationship with the local authorities and a civil (legally binding) wedding may be arranged on site. This is one of them.
Jule and Hamish wanted only one wedding event – and for that event to be in the same place as the reception. We understand this need (though a symbolic blessing for many couples gives them more flexibility and a wider choice of venues) and so try and accommodate this possibility wherever possible. The civil wedding allows a number of the most important elements of any wedding to be incorporated: the bride may be given away, there can be music, and readings, and the couple will exchange vows and rings
Villa Chiara is a truly special rural setting, to the South of Siena. The three night minimum booking is perfect for arranging a welcome meal (Barbecue or Pizza party for example, in the central “street” of the converted village) the wedding day – a totally special setting on the lawns for the ceremony and aperitifs, and in the formal walled garden or restaurnat terrace for the wedding meal. The following day can be a recovery brunch, and then just hanging out by the pool…
Julie and Hamish kept florals and lighting to a minimum – preferring to have great food and a great time with a larger number of guests – so the floral design concentrated on olives and local flowers and colors.
This photography choice was also a great match for the couple. Like many, not lovers of being constantly the center of attention, Julie and Hamish opted for our great team of 2 ladies from Northern Italy who’s focus is much about the mood and feel of the day, while discreetly capturing the special feel of the flowers, the lighting, and the couple’s love and joy naturally on the day.
