An ancient estate, a millennium-old castle, – and the singular aim of protecting and restoring an extraordinary corner of unspoilt Umbria. That has been the dream behind this castello – now a working reality. 1,500 hectares of pristine wilderness, protected, restored and brought back to thrilling life by a dynamic family who owns and maintains this estate. Within the walls of the castle are two interlinked courtyards – one now encased in glass and starting a new life as the Palm Court. The other is a wonderful grassy lawn circled by impressive mature Umbrella Pines and Cypresses.
A corner of the castle courtyard holds a marvel of design: the Palm Court’s wrought-iron columns and glass ceiling create an exotic fin-de-siècle space. On arriving at the Castello, it is a perfect first port of call. A place to take in an invigorating negroni, while also
absorbing the majesty of the castle’s walls from within.
The castle’s ancient wine cellars, below the Palm Court, have been transformed into the Bathhouse. Warm stone steps lead down to a tranquil sanctuary of therapeutic interconnecting spaces, offering holistic, nurturing treatments to soothe both body and soul

The rooms and suites contained within these ancient castle walls are imbued with personality – thanks to our organic approach to contemporary design, coupled with a discerning nod to the intriguing characters who once called this home.
There are so many tactile qualities contained in every room: hand-stitched linen, smooth wood, polished brass and rich fabrics. Every artifact was chosen to sit exactly where it has been placed and thus, makes the whole perfect. In total the property is home to 36 suites.
Events
Exclusive booking of the castle gives you use of all spaces – both of the on site restaurants – and all hotel and spa facilities. The wedding banquet will be all prepared on site by the talented staff and kitchens, according to your preferences and with their experiences guidance.
The castle has an ample and exciting range of internal and external spaces for all aspects of a three day event, making a wedding here so much more than just a few hours wedding celebration.
